Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before purchasing any insurance policy from Bharat Protection Insurance Company. By purchasing, renewing, or continuing a policy, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Key Acceptance Points:
- These terms form a legal contract between you and Bharat Protection Insurance Company
- You confirm all information provided is accurate and complete
- You agree to pay premiums as per the payment schedule
- You authorize us to verify information through third parties
1.1 Policy Period
- Policy coverage begins from the inception date mentioned in the policy document
- Standard policy period is 1 year unless specified otherwise
- Renewal must be completed before expiry to avoid lapse in coverage
- Grace period of 15 days for premium payment (subject to terms)
1.2 Coverage Details
Coverage Inclusions:
Coverage is specifically limited to what is mentioned in your policy document. Refer to the policy wording for exact terms, conditions, and exclusions.
Important Limitations:
Maximum liability for any claim is limited to the sum insured mentioned in the policy document. Deductibles and co-payments apply as per policy terms.
2.1 Premium Calculation
- Premiums are calculated based on risk assessment and actuarial principles
- Premium rates are subject to change at renewal as per IRDAI guidelines
- Additional premiums may apply for add-on covers or riders
- Premium includes applicable GST as per government regulations
2.2 Payment Terms
- Payment must be made through approved modes (online, cheque, NEFT)
- Policy is effective only after receipt of full premium
- Bounced cheques or failed payments may lead to policy cancellation
- Late payment may attract interest charges as per policy terms
3.1 Claim Notification
- Notify claims immediately or within 24 hours of incident
- Use toll-free number: 1800-123-CLAIM or online portal
- Provide complete and accurate information about the incident
- Submit all required documents within stipulated time
3.2 Settlement Process
Standard Process:
- Claims are processed within 30 days of document submission
- Settlement amount is paid via NEFT to registered bank account
- Partial payments may be made in case of ongoing treatment (health insurance)
- Cashless facility available at network hospitals/garages

General Exclusions:
- Pre-existing diseases (unless declared and accepted)
- Cosmetic or aesthetic treatments
- War, nuclear risks, terrorism (unless specifically covered)
- Intentional self-injury or suicide
- Under influence of alcohol or drugs
- Racing or speed testing of vehicles
- Wear and tear, gradual deterioration
5.1 Policy Cancellation
- You may cancel policy within 15 days of receipt (Free-look period)
- Written cancellation notice required
- Company may cancel for non-payment or fraud
- 30 days notice for cancellation by company (except for fraud)
5.2 Refund Calculation
Refund Terms:
- Free-look cancellation: Full premium refund (subject to charges)
- Mid-term cancellation: Pro-rata refund based on used period
- Refund processed within 15 working days
- Deductions apply for stamp duty and medical checkup costs
6.1 Grievance Redressal
- First level: Contact Customer Care (1800-123-4567)
- Second level: Grievance Officer (response within 3 days)
- Third level: IRDAI Grievance Cell (www.igms.irda.gov.in)
- Fourth level: Ombudsman (for claims above ₹20 lakhs)
6.2 Legal Jurisdiction
Governing Law:
All disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra. These terms are governed by Indian laws including the Insurance Act, 1938 and IRDAI regulations.
